Ron Ahern's Home Page

Welcome to my home page. I retired in August of 2013. I sold my house and bought an RV. I lived in the RV for about six years. During that time, I traveled across the country between California and New England nine times. I am now settled in Vermont. I bought three acres with a prefab house and a two and a half car garage.

My 28 year carreer was in software development. Now programming is one of my hobbies. I've written a few games that are available from this page.

Another hobby is playing the classical guitar. Here's a recording.

My travel log is here. RV Adventures.

GAMES:

Rummikub. This is a family favorite.

Rummikub NEW. I wrote the first version in 2001. This new version is a slight improvement.

Pyramid. This is a standard solitaire card game with a twist. This program allows you to compete with the computer. Click the "Help" button to see how.

Qwirkle. This is a new family favorite.

Chess. I wrote my first chess program in 1983. That one I wrote in 6510-machine-language, using BASIC for the UI. It ran on the Commodore 64. This one is written in Java, using GWT for the UI.
This portrait mode is better for some devices.

Dot. This is a simple little game I used to play as a kid. It's not much, but it was fun to program.

Master Mind. This is a hard game to master.

UNO. Everyone plays UNO.

Pitch. Click the Info button to see particulars about this version. There are many instructions on the internet.

Chinese Checkers. Click the Help button for instructions.

Minesweeper. The old standard Windows game.
