In May, I flew to Vermont for my mother's 85th birthday party/family-reunion. All my siblings, and many of their children were there. It was a great time. Oddly though, I have no pictures.
After the birthday reunion, I mainly stayed close to home-base so I could get some chores done. Most stops were either places I'd already been, or just places to park for a while. Here is the unadorned list: Santa Margarita KOA El Chorro Regional Park Bay Pines RV park Rancho Colina RV park Morro Strand State Park Flying Flags RV park Lopez Lake El Chorro Regional Park Lake Nacimiento Resort Salinas/Monterey KOA El Chorro Regional Park Morro Strand RV park Avila/Pismo Beach KOA Moss Landing KOA That takes me halfway through July. Then I headed for Oregon, which is in the next installment. I've got a few pictures from the sites listed above. At Santa Margarita I took a few pictures of the lake, and more pictures from a hike nearby. |
El Chorro Regional Park has a really nice trail, but my only pictures are from the botanical gardens that are part of the park. |
From my Bay Pines stop, I found a nice trail that goes through a pine forest with really large pine trees. The trail also goes to the top of Black Hill. One of the pictures from the hill top shows the RV park. |
At Morro Strand State Park |
There was a nice path at Avila/Pismo Beach. It's paved for bikes, but very nice for walking too. And there's a good restaurant along the way. |
Moss Landing has a pretty harbor area and a nice path along the beach and estuary. And a great Mexican restaurant with kind of a silly name, but great food and margaritas. |
