Oregon trip - July 2015

I did this trip with my sister who lives in California. We met up in Petaluma, CA, a little north of San Francisco. We spent a day visiting with a friend of ours from our high school days. From there we drove to Oregon (me in my RV, and Christine in her PT Cruiser).

Our first Oregon stop was Lake Selmac county park, near Grants Pass. It's a beautiful park with some nice trails, and a pretty lake. The campsites are very spacious, and well maintained.

Our next stop was Sutton Campground, close to the coast, but still in deep forest. We drove to the dunes for our day trip.

Here are a few pictures from the drive down the coast.

The next stop was right on the beach, where most people were there for OHV riding. VERY noisy vehicles. I knew that the riders would be camping there, but I didn't know that they would be constantly revving/fixing/riding right there on the lot. We went into the town of Coos Bay to get away from the noise. Had a nice walk and lunch, and visited the really excellent art museum there. Then, back at the campsite, we found a great trail away from all the noise.

We then headed back to California. We stopped at the Willets KOA for Christine's last night of the trip. She headed back home from there, and I went to the Fort Bragg Leisure Time RV park. It's about two miles from Fort Bragg, where all the coastal pictures are from. More specifically, the coastal pictures are from Pomo Bluffs Park. The other pictures are from the Jackson State Forest next to the RV park.
